  1. Setting done on level ground.Headlight bases are original. No faults show on Durametric diagnostics. I think it may need the headlight mounts setting which is what I am trying to find out how to do.
  2. I bought a genuine Durametric cable to reset the service indicater but when I connected it and tried it did not work and said " if it does not reset remove the instrument cluster fuse" (Row B fuse 1 on my 2007 997 C4S) I did this and it worked
  3. Hi Loren Thanks for your response. The airbag control module etc function ok so I assume the Terminal 86s relay is ok. Do you know the location of Terminal 86 S so I can check the connections etc ?
  4. Hi Loren Thanks for your response. I have a manual and had carried out the procedure(switch on headlight in dipped position then turn on ignition) - the headlights then go through the described sequence but finish up with the beams too high. I wanted to know if it is possible to adjust the self levelling device so that the beams are not so high.
  5. I have a 2007 997 C4s cabriolet. The headlamps are the self levelling type and when switched on the units go through the self levelling process but finish up too high- the dipped position is about where the high beam should be and the high beam is way too high. Does anyone know how to adjust the base level? Any help much appreciated.
  6. I have a 2007 997 Cs4 and have just bought a genuine Durametric diagnostic cable. Does anyone know where I can download a complete list of all the fault codes please ? I have fault code 8005 Terminal S ? on the PAS and am struggling to find out what it means. Any help much appreciated
  7. I have now replaced the seal but am mystified by the fact that when I removed the oil level plug on the gearbox a lot of oil poured out ? There is also a much higher oil level plug on the offside of the diff. There is only one drain plug which is on the bottom of the diff so I assume that the gearbox and diff oil are connected so why is there a lower level plug on the gearbox which appears to drain oil from the diff ? Could it be to do with the 4 wheel drive system and the gearbox oil level plug should be ignored ? I have refilled the oil in the diff to the top level plug. Anyone know about this ?
  8. 2007 C4S :Slight leak started on the diff seal on the rear nearside drive shaft. Can it be replaced in situ? - any instructions/ pictures much appreciated.
  9. Thanks for the reply - My 4S does not have the Sport Chrono package , just the sports exhaust button, does the same apply ?
  10. 2007 997-1 Carrera 4S : Does anyone know if switching the factory fitted sport exhaust on changes anything else on the car set up other than the exhaust note ( eg, engine mapping)?.
  11. Many thanks for the info - very helpfull Tsmat
  12. Does anyone know if a hardtop from a 1999 carrera 2 will fit a 2007 carrera 4S ? - do not really want to try in case securing clamps are different and it breaks something.
  13. If I cannot resolve my "no satellites" problem cost effectively I may consider fitting an after market sat/nav in my 2007 Carrera 4s - does anyone know of a good sat/nav with blue tooth that will integrate with the Bose audio system etc. without too much modification ?. I do not need the telephone facility. Many thanks
  14. Hi Richard Many thanks for your response - the first constructive one ! I wish now that I had not updated the firmware but the Porsche installation instructions that came with the discs said that the 2012 map would not run properly without updating the firmware - mine is now SW4.0 Target : 05395BD1/4505 etc. However it all installed ok with all the correct prompts and the 2012 map DVD worked ok for the first few journeys until I got the 0 satellites problem. I have got the original Porsche 2006 Map DVD but not the earlier firmware disc so I am unable to try reinstalling that but I have read somewhere that that is not possible ? I am beginning to think that I may have a hardware problem so your offer of testing the PCM is most welcome - perhaps you would contact me on atsmart@talktalk.net so that we can exchange phone numbers and perhaps arrange something - I live in Leicestershire so am not too far away. Again, many thanks for your response tsmat
  15. I bought the updates on the Internet from satnavupdates.com The discs looked genuine and there were full Porsche instructions which were very comprehensive. I installed the firmware exactly as the instructions, then the Map DVD with no problem and it all worked ok for two days. I contacted the supplier when I first could not get any satellites and he said the discs were copies of the original Porsche ones and that he had supplied many updates for many different cars without any problems. ( There is a website giving full details) He was very helpful and sent me another copy of the discs which I installed but still cannot get any satellites ? If there was anything wrong with the discs I do not understand how it worked for the first 2 days ?
  16. Hoping someone can help new member I recently bought a 2007 997 carrera 4s convertible which had the 2006 navigation map installed - only used it twice, worked ok but some new roads on my journeys not shown, so I bought update for the firmware and navigation map ( to 2012) on the internet, followed the installation instructions to update the firmware with no problems, inserted the map DVD and all worked ok - I used the satnav over the following 2 days several times all ok. The next time I tried it would say calculating route but no details and after checking nav/status found that no satellites are being detected - I have since tried reinstalling firmware( with another copy from original supplier) and map DVD but still no satellites - I have checked the connection into the satellite antenna and even connected another satellite antenna directly into the DVD player but still no satellites. I have tried taking out the PCM fuse and rebooting the PCM with 1,4 & 8. but still no satellites. The map displays showing car in wrong location, and any destination entered can be seen on the map - as I drive along the map changes but is not relevant . All other functions of the PCM work ok. I wish now, that I had looked into it before hand as I am getting horror stories that I may have wrecked the PCM and it is not possible to revert to the 2006 navigation map and firmware ? - could this really be the case as the DVD reads the map disc and telephone, sound system etc. all are ok. Does anyone know whether this is likely to be a software or hardware problem Any help /suggestions would be greatly appreciated
