  1. Hi everyone. Just serviced my cayenne v6 2006 at home. Changed oil and filter and cleaned air filter....started it after that and it started up well....reversed it out and had my man Friday hose it down with a pressure washer....he hosed down the engine compartment also..... Now I put in the ignition key and it says: PSM failure workshop....it doesn't start...as soon as I insert the key and turn the ignition on the gear position indicator goes to D even though the car is in P. The gear indicator shows D irrespective of the position of the gear lever. I connected Durametric and it shows tons of errors....DME 1314 is the fault code under Porsche stability management And also under instrument cluster it shows fault code 1314.... Car is stuck in the driveway.... Everything else is working radio lights etc
  2. Ok one more question....If I buy a used remote from ebay and put my key in it and take it to my dealer and say that the remote has stopped working....will they be able to tell if the remote is from another car? I can say I woke up and the car would not unlock and remote would not work.....so maybe they can reprogramme it....but if they know the remote is from another car then they might not.
  3. Ok so what seems to be the best option? That means the ECU thingie is out......so either I talk to the dealer again or call porsche germany???
  4. Hi Ok so its a bit silly...I lost my only key to my Cayenne 3.2L V6 2006, fell from my pocket....havent been able to find it in 3 days. I do have a skeleton key which opens up the door. Called the porsche dealership here in India and they said they will have to order a lockset along with a new key and code the new key in. The lockset consists of the door lock and ignition lock and is priced at $2000. Now I have come across this on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-Porsche...ccc524&vxp=mtr Will this just be plug and play....that is i replace the ECU and the ignition lock. Will the remote lock and unlock the doors also?
  5. Yes some breakage would be there....its glued and you have to force it.....
  6. When I adjust the dimming switch to increase or decrease brightness then all my lights flicker for sometime and then settle down to normal.
  7. Just finished the NAVTV install OPI-P for the Ipod on my Cayenne 2006. Removal of the PCM was easy, just watched the video on youtube. Unplugged all the wires behind it. The NAVTV OPI-P was easy to work with. I had a plug and play harness. So the PCM has 5 connectors going into it. 2 for the antennae, 1 for the MOST orange cables and 2 more multi pin connectors. The plug and play harness is a straight plug in into the PCM and utilises the existing ground and power. no need to splice anywhere. The MOST cables were easy to work with. The only trouble I had was that the OPI box would not fit in the back, there was just no space. So the PCM has an empty space below it, I cut one tab and shoved the box under it and put some sponge around it so the OPI module doesnt jump around. the IPod cable i routed out of the side of the panel. Tow my OPI came with a Bypass loop for the CD Changer. The loop is a small plastic hollow pipe into which you are supposed to plug in the CD changers MOST cablesfacing w=eachother and snap it shut. But unfortunately I could not figure out a way to remove the Cd Changer and get behind to the MOST cables. So I just switched on the PCM without the Optical bypass loop and to my surprise the Ipod worked!!! IT sometimes is glitchy in the sense that sometimes it wont load the playlists etc but most of the times work fines. The steering buttons work fine. I ordered a Scosche adaptor from ebay for $17 which you need to charge the newer Ipods. It is like $45 from NAVTV. Now I dont know whether the glitches are due to me not having the Optical bypass or just generally. Also when you change a track there is a slight lag. Loving my music in the Cayenne.
  8. So its the same as mine which is LV......so VU and LV are interchangeable?
  9. Its the same year but its a cayenne S...interior is the same color but option code says VU.
  10. Loren my friend got a cayenne too.....the interior color looks exactly the same but the color code option says VU What color is VU?
  11. yep it was the connectors issue, cleaned them up and ziptied them and no problem now
  12. Thanks for all your help guys, I finally went with 18 inch rims and 255/55/18 rubber, ride is veryyy pliant even on broken roads.
  13. I was having some trouble with my Cayenne 2006 headlamps. It has a bixenon setup, the light was too dim.I took out the D1S bulbs and found that the bulbs were a little hazy with a dark brown discoloration around the middle. They are Osram Xenarc 35WPicture1 is of the bulb with the discolorationAlso I had some aiming issues with the head lamp. I found 2 adjustment screws, so my question is that is it possible to adjust the high beam and low beam seperately?I thought there was only one screw we turned to adjust our headlamps. Also I found a shutter inside the xenon projector housing which i pressed with a screw driver and it flipped down? What is this for? does it mean when we switch on the high beam the xenon shutter also falls? If so then why do we have a seperate high beam on the side?
  14. I tried to adjust the lumbar support of the passenger seat from the 4 way rocker switch today and there is no sound or movement horizontally but vertically the button does work and motor makes sound. When I try to adjust horzontally there is just a click sound of a relay maybe?? but no movement. The seat is uncomfy to sit on cos the lumbar support is fully ballooned out forward. So I guess its one of the motors?? What part number??
  15. Guys I know it's been discussed tons of time in so many forums but I had a few specific questions which have not been answered. I have a 2006 base cayenne with xenon for low beam and a halogen for high beam. Read the manual also. Questions as follows: 1) the manual says bi-xenon and additional high beam- why is it called bi xenon? There is only one xenon and bi would mean 2? Also why is the high beam called additional high beam? 2) is it possible to adjust the xenon and high beam separately? The manual doesn't say it?? 3) also it shows a screwdriver being inserted....and it's a funny looking screwdriver, it's like curved?? Where do I find it? It's not in my toolkit. 4) then it explains the procedure of parking 24.6 feet away but it doesn't tell whether we switch on dipped beam with the high beam or just the dipped beam. 5) also there is no mention of clockwise or counterclockwise movement of screwdriver does what? I mean does clockwise lower the beam or vice versa?? Any help would be appreciated.
  16. Hi Own a black 2006 V6 3.2L BASE cayenne. I have to order some interior trim and am confused if I have havanna or sand beige.... I have an identification slip which I found near the space saver tire in the trunk. I am attaching it can anyone help to decode it for interior colors and also for options it has? Thanks
  17. Hi guys I took my headlamps out to install new osram nightbreakers H7 in the high beam. I put back the headlights and I got a check dipped beam error, the left xenon was not working, took it out and seated it again and now it showed check high beam again I took it out and reseated the unit. The high beam came on but error still showed, I drove around then the indicator error came up on the right side lamp, again took it out and reseated it.....everytime I reseat it the old error dissappears and a new one pops up. Tried cleaning the contacts also but no avail. Im sure its loose contacts, whta can I do about em?? Thanks Ron
