  1. I went thru all the above. I have an '04 996 coupe w/Bose system. I just want to upgrade the dash speakers to obtain better high frequency sound. I would appreciate input on available speaker / tweeter options that do not entail mounting difficulties. Basically plug & play (if thats possible). Also interested in replies to Koolkat's question on the 2 ohm issue as that is what Bose uses. Thx for replies.
  2. Thx Jason, I was looking for a "normal" screw to turn, not the one in the video.
  3. My '04 apparently had never been adjusted to the 4 clicks recommended. I reviewed a tutorial post on this and after a considerable time of trying to locate the adjustment screw on the rear wheels just couldn't find them, so I adjusted the under armrest box cable to the correct clicks. Should this cause any problems down the line since I didn't follow proper procedure? Ebrake works fine now. Just wodering. Thx for replys.
  4. I spoke with Rob at Pelican yesterday about my PSE issue. He said the levers should be movable by hand, and told me where the actuator was. Guess I'll start be seeing hearing if actuator makes any sound when the button is pushed. This was an expense option and I really would like to get it functioning. Car seems quiet, so I think it is stuck in the closed position. Any thoughts on cause and fix would be appreciated.
  5. Was the relay behind the fuse box and where was it located, in other words which is the correct relay? Having similar problem with my '04. How much was the relay? See my post today on this issue.
  6. Just came back from from the Indi while I was there with a different concern. He explained to me there is a lever that once the solenoid is activated closes this lever, however he couldn't get it to move with his hand, which he thought he should be able to. He though maybe it is froze from unuse. Also he said that there is only one on the Rt side muffler. I would think there should be 2, one for each muffler?. Any ideas on this issue and if there is an easy way to loosen the lever (PB Blaster?) would be appreciated. Thx for any and all assistance.
  7. Where exactly is the solenoid and vacuum hoses located when you look from under the car or do you see them from up top?
  8. $125 w/coupon for a 49 at Batteries plus - best deal I could find after calling around. 3 yrs full replacement warranty.
  9. Anyone have an exploded pic of the switch wiring - looking to see which poles are the ones to light it up when on. Thx for replys
  10. Thx for all the information - last question - is it really necessary to have some power going to the car when replacing the battery? The owners manual doesn't address this - just don't want to loose the computer information
  11. I'll be using a Schumacher 6v/12v auto voltage regulator @ 1.5 Amp. I'll be connecting it up to the posts in the engine compartment. Then remove & replace battery. Is this a correct process?
  12. I have an '04 996 coupe and I guess its time for a new battery. When replacing the battery do I need to keep power somehow to the vehicle to avoid problems with the information stored in the computer system. An if so, can I use a battery charger to keep some power to the car as I place the new one in? Anything else I should be aware of? Thx for replies.
  13. "04 966 coupe - I am wanting to upgrade the dash speakers for clearer, crisper high note. Seems like there are tweeters in there given the shape of the grills, however they just don't perform in the high ranges. Anyone replace / install a higher quality tweeter? Are the speakers 2 ohm? Replies appreciated.
  14. Thx for the advise, I get the part about the headlight switch but I need a little more information on the single pole, open relay and the coils part. Sorry for asking but I am not very good with electronics (better with a simple wrenching project).
  15. This post ask about how to hack a light. Thx for the threat above.
  16. I have an '04 C2 that came w/o footlights. I would like to install some that operate only when night driving lights are on. Suggestions on where and how to hardwire the lights in are welcome. Thx
  17. I think I figured it out. When you lock the vehicle they go out automatically
  18. Loren no other light are on. Am I correct that the electrical safety system will turn them off after a specified time? Went out this morning and they were off. Thx for the reply, appreciate it sir.
  19. '04 911 Coupe - the open switches (by driver door sill) for the above seem to be in the lit mode all the time, with vehicle off, and no overhead or instrument lights on. Is this normal? Thx for all replies.
  20. New to my '04 911 coupe w/55k miles on it, and although the car seems trouble free, just wondering what the signs are of clutch wear. The car appears to be well taken care of, no oil leaks, noises, ect. Only dealer service issue was an ignition switch replaced. Any way for a DIY'er to know how much life is left? Comments are appreciated. Thx
  21. Looking around here and don't seem to be able to find any Recall information on my model year (maybe there weren't any). Headed to the dealer tomorrow for first time as I just bought the car used and model yr. recall info would be helpful for discussion and general knowledge. Also, as a member I can view the PDF tech bulletins but they don't seem to have captions to review before opening file? Responses appreciated. Thx
  22. Replaced my key battery last week and it worked fine w/no issues or need for recoding.
  23. Just a C4, guess I didn't get this option as there is no switch on the center console. Write up to add them would be helpful.
