If not take it to a auto parts store most have a fob tester, if fails check battery, but could still bad I took mine swimming left key in pocket, tried rice, alcohol dip, dead. 140 bucks for new one at dealer. 5. I had done same thing, I didn't have a bore scope so took my cell phone plus add as must light as possible and set it to burst shooting and just moved it around as best you can and shoot, after reviewing the shots and kept on trying till I located it then using a magnet on a end of a speedo cable I was able to retrieve it.
  6. Again thanks to all, now put it all back together test drive and head to KY
  7. Thanks to all, yesterday before I took the pan off, I took my cell phone and used it as close as possible as a bore scope, reviewed the photos on a video is thought I saw it. so with a magnet attached to a speedo cable and mirrors I went fishing, caught a 2 oz large head M8 "guess on size".
  8. Since yesterday was Sunday I took my cell phone and shot a fist full of photos, reviewed them found what I thought was a bolt, then using mirrors and a magnet on a speedo cable was able to fish it out "thanks to the go fish comment" that engine killer. Thanks all for the help. Hate to say this old man may ask for help when doing repair on the 911, but sure glad I didn't buy a Boxer, that was one of my concerns when getting my Bucket Car.
  9. I plan on dropping the pan today, will have to check my Loctite supplies, for use by date. I retired now and have to watch all my chemicals for out of date, used some RTV it wouldn't cure checked the tube year pass the use by date, now read baby. If I don't see it will turn over engine by hand, and pray!
  10. Replacing my oil filler tube on my 2001 C4 as I was installing the new tube I placed the two bolts in tube as I tried to install it, opps one bolt dropped in to the opening for the tube.
  11. Did you use the manual operation at any time, if so the cable drive for the clam shell has been disconnected. Check back if that is the case.
  12. I have a 01 C4 and it wouldn't that is why the plastic sheet is in the kit so you can cover to Pass seat and place it there.
  13. Yes I use a Durametric, I have tried it every day for a week, still does not read a roll bar module.
  14. I jumped the curb and the roll bars deployed. 1. Reloaded the roll bars per owners manual 2. Connected the code reader, roll bar selection did not load, said this option not their. ? is there a fuse in the roll bar control module
  15. Sorry have no photos (forgot) !. removed the side panel found the mounting bolts except the bottom one That one took hours to figure how to get at it. Way at the bottom there ls a hole cannot remember If here was a rubber plug or not. you can put a socket in here to loosen the bolt/nut the regulator assy which has a slot in it. 2. lift the regulator out till you can remove the power plug via the speaker hole.
  16. The memory unit is under the drivers seat It has a fuse also, You can get it repaired at the CPU Doctors I don't have there web address right now but I used them and they replaced the unit
  17. I have the Savanna interior and had rub off areas I ordered the vinyl paint and primer and did it also it looked good but it also was easy to scratch off, I will do it again but will add a clear coat over it.
  18. The signal to open and close windows comes from the Alarm computer under the drivers seat, Has the car been exposed to rain of late? The position of this computer is CAB problem, the next problem could be will not start, starter will not activate. Over the years I have had to replace 2 of them due to water. The windows motors have micro computers in-them with 12V, Ground, up, down, comfort up and comfort down inputs It appears that they are not getting the comfort signals. I sent my alarm cpu to the CPU Doctors for repair, and now they offer a waterproof encloser for it. I hope this helps.
  19. I used 3M's headlight restorer but rather then taping off the paint I removed them and did them on the bench in comfort their should be followed but after I applied a UV protective.
  20. In order for the rear window to up with the top down you have to stick your finger in the top latch opening and press the micro switch, all works fine can now but all the carpet and panels back.
  21. Both rear windows on my CAB will not go up using the switches, top up, and key for top up, checked the fuses, Checked the switch and 12v power switched for power and it was present. any Idea how to bypass the system to bring them up?
