  1. Good to hear its an easy job. I have zero mechanical incliniations. Did you happen to compare this to the OEM 997 shifter (not shortened just upgraded)? I hear that the 997 stock shifter kit is a much improved shifter from the stock 996. I'm debating between the two and not sure if paying double for the SSK is worth it over the 997 stock
  2. Inexepensive method: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911L/POR_911L_INTsts_pg2.htm I just bought one, waiting for it to come in. I'm now looking for a similar product to fit all of my other cars. A cheaper way would be to go to a local junk yard and take a seat belt from a car there.
  3. Do you think WD-40 would do the trick? I just noticed the same noise on mine, perhaps not as bad as a coffee grinder... its more akin to nails on a chalk board.
