  1. Thanks, is there a procedure for removing air pockets, might try that first
  2. Hi I have a 2003 996 C4S, Last weekend got an engine warning light, switched off and started again later and goot coolant low warning, so I topped up, was driving again today for a few hours and got coolant warning and Hight temp red light, yet the tem guage seemed ok around 80 in the middle. stopped and saw steam from engine bay, could not locate topped up water which was below min but not by much and was OK got me home. I noticed that heater was not blowing hot as I put it on just in case. Is it possible there is an airlock, or does anyone recognise these symptoms. Any advice welcome Declan
  3. Thanks is the Radio a separate component (tuner etc) or part of the console?
  4. Hi my C4S (2003) has an intermittent issue with the console, sound and system errors, there are a few after market items the main one being and system to use ipod/phone which seems to have replaced the cd changer. My independent Porsche repair specialist has tested and looked at the wiring, replaced the Amp and the phone unit, bypassed the phone unit and the issue is still there. Today as an example I had to drive 60 KM , heavy motorway traffic outbound, Intermittant sound from start of journey but only quiet for short period second or two getting longer after about 45 minutes driving. Occassionally system error popped up “No phone, CD changer”. It also was intermittent when trying to play a CD on the console. On the return journey after 2 hours parked and switched off it was also intermittent more frequently and for longer say 10 secs. The console also twice went dark and seemed to repower up. Has anyone any ides what the issue might be or how to find it? Declan
  5. Thanks I have no idea when the last Tip/Diff service was. I will check with the dealer
  6. Hi I recently purchased a 2003 996 C4S Tiptronic, Its my first Porsche and also my first Auto gearbox. I notice when cold on start up there is quite a loud whine when breaking and changing down its not as loud or an issue when warmed up. Is this normal or is there a possible gearbox, Diff or brake issue that needs attention.
