  1. Every time I start my car, I can hear the tappets clicking for about 2 seconds before they pressurise then it goes away. Normal? It worries me as at that time it wears the cam I would think? Thanks.
  2. on that cam solenoid, did you not notice a significant decrease in power?????
  3. I can't believe the line is plastic??? As the line is shared with the brakes if you replaced the hose and brake and that slave line with braided I wonder how nice and firm the pedal would be afterwards????? HMMMM
  4. Ok Ok I figured out what my problem is. Loren, like my 3rd radiator it only took me what 7 times to get it perfect????? I had the adjustment stop in the rear, consequently even though I had the tool and swaped out the factory shifter and all it still didn't have enough threads to get to where perfect would be. After I swapped it out to the front, having broken both race tabs no less and fiddling with the perfect lash over and over lo and behold there is plenty of slack now!!! They were 4 from the tabs on each basically. Swapped in the oem porsche ssk and it liked it just fine. Now it's perfect. I haven't driven it yet, although will do in a couple of hours for my night class. The answer- follow the directions. Even though it seemed like a great idea for adjusting the stop as I didn't ahve a right angled allen, it didn't allow enough slack on the cables to avhe the stop in the rear!!!! Sometimes I really have to laugh at myself. :)
  5. checked it and it didn't seem like it was sticking but I just kinda pushed it in and it returned. I didn't really see how far it was supposed to return etc.
  6. btw I called susnet for the hell of it and the cost of the headliner was 1k and another 450 for the sunset insert in alcantra!!! ****
  7. might consider the marginal cost- I drive my car daily and have the pss9's I also go into the canyons regularly and did the gt3 sways
  8. I did find that switch unfortunately I pressed the pedal enough so it became so stiff that I couldn't check it again! :( I guess it would help if the ebrake was off etc. IN any event I will check it again today and then check the cruize on the drive to school
  9. I had the cam solenoid cover seals done by the dealer. it will probably remain leaking I am told although less so because evidently there is another seal inside which is more difficult and more expensive to get to- this is what I was told at least. I had that oilpan leak also and replaced the oilpan as well with the new revised one. You might consider that as I was told because I ehem bottomed it a couple of times that it would affect the sealing- Good luck, don't want to discourage you but that is what I have gathered from my $$$ experiences-
  10. Interesting maybe it's how you route the wires? there is a lip that you can actually run the wiring under that tray, but more likely than not you are running the signal wire rca's too close to the battery cables. This will always lead to that noise. I ALWAYS consciosly separate them so this doesn't occur- As noted previously I found that I had no problems when being mindful of this. Thanks Loren you are right where it comes through as always, I forgot.
  11. I ran the wires in through there and that is where the cd controller cables are run no problems -
  12. I will go under and try and find it again I guess. The light does come one so hopefully again, it is just the switch-
  13. yeah what did you pay? I went aftermarket because of the better quality for the same dough- If you get the bekker harness and mod it you don't cut a thing-
  14. So I put that spring back in the connector and put it back together. It appeared that it was off the cluch pedal however. There weren't any contacts on the brake pedal at all. I assume somehow that is the one though. I will let you know when I go for a drive today thanks.
  15. awesome!! I will check today. Maybe that has to do with this small spring I found on the floor a few months ago
  16. My cruise control has been out for some time since I got some ehem, serivce work done etc. Last time they said it was fine, maybe from a diag on the ps2 machine or whatever dunno. In any event the light turns green when the switch is engaged but nothing does anything when I try to engage it by the lever etc. Any ideas? I would think it was just a connector left off or something? thanks it would be nice to have that fixed and not pay the stinking dealer an arm and a leg to do so. Sean
  17. did you use the oem suede one? If so did you get it for the 99 or use a 00 and up part or did you do an aftermarket deal?? Thanks. I would do it myself as I am a student and have enough loans as it is :) Sorry about the swear Loren I didn't realize I posted it. Thanks again, Let me know Karl
  18. well I should have bent them before I glued them back in they are still not quite right. I guess I could pull them out again bend them and then epoxy them back again. I am sort of over it. Is there a place where I could pick up a passenger one for cheap? thanks. Sean
  19. so do you guys remove the muffler and plug that hole as well as plugging the smaller hose that connects to it???
  20. **** too bad it's a non sunroof nice delete btw. Hey Loren can I put a suede headliner in my 99 which has the fugly and rather cheap looking vinyl one? I do have a sunroof btw. Any idea on the cost also anyone? thanks again.
  21. groits makes a cool air horn one that I am told bolts right in is cheap, loud sounds cool and uses the same wiring connection I think it's 50 bucks?
  22. I opened it up and the spring clips receptacles are the culprit. They're both cracked, so I have epoxied them along with the clips. I am crossing my fingers that i built up enough epoxy that it will reinforce them enough so they can bear the stress again, but I am not all that confident. We'll see. BTW it was a PITO to get the main part out! thanks again. Sean
