  1. I recently switched from 17 to 20 Inch wheels on my 2008 Cayenne V6. Ride quality is a little more stiff but fine. I have yet to jnstall my H&R lowering springs on my OEM struts, but I'm told that doing so will make the ride more stiff. Here is a site that will tell you the difference in the speedometer when changing tire sizes. It's a pretty big difference. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/tirecalc.php?tires=235-55r17-275-45r20
  2. The CAN gateway may need to be reset. To reset the CAN gateway take the key out of the ignition and remove fuse #40 for at least 10 seconds. The fuse panel is on the left side of the dashboard where the dashboard meets the door panel. Re-run the Durametric and see if the faults come back.
  3. It doesn't look good...similar thread http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/15766-replacing-of-steering-wheel-button/
  4. I got an estimate for full window tinting for $375 to $425. I think this is kind of pricey. What did you pay for your full window tinting?
  5. I ordered the H & R springs to lower my suspension. I bought my 2008 Porsche Cayenne V6 (w/o air suspension) about 13 months ago. I was told when I bought it that the struts and springs had been replaced (I'm assuming with OEM parts). Without the front wheel liners off, I can see that the springs are new because the Porsche labels look to be clean and new. Assuming that the struts are new, is it ok to have the H&R springs installed using the current OEM struts or do you recommend that I get new/different struts such as Bilsteins? Also, would I have to get a camber kit? My wheel & tire size are 275/45/20.
  6. I am thinking about purchasing the Fab Speed Secondary Cat Bypass Pipes. I have a couple of questions: 1. Is it relatively easy to install? I am not a mechanic in any way, but am a relatively competent do it yourselfer with instruction. 2. What problems may I encounter during the install? 3. What tools will I need for the install? Eventually, I would like to upgrade the entire exhaust system and noticed that Fab Speed also sells the Maxflo Mufflers and Deluxe Quad Style Tips. Are these components relatively easy to install as well? Any help would be much appreciated.
  7. I think your PCM 2.1 also has fiber optic wiring. If such is the case, you will probably need to get the MOST unit. Call Sean at Ray's electronics (630) 237-4333 and he'll be able to give you a definitive answer.
  8. What year is your Cayenne and what model stereo do you have installed presently? Post a pic.
  9. One thing you should be aware of with Alpine products...it requires that a wire be connected to the parking brake wire in order to access the menu controls in order to avoid being able to that while driving. Have your installer install a manual kill switch instead. Otherwise, you will never be able to access the menu controls unless your parking brake is activated.
  10. The install for labor was $200. However, be aware that you will need the MOST-HUR955 Fiber Optic head unit replacement module which runs about $500 to $600. In addition, I had a Porsche dash kit installed with it for about $100. So, overall, it cost more for the parts and install than the unit itself. However, it was well worth it!
  11. I had the Alpine iLX 007 professionally installed about 1 month ago and love it. Here is a pic of the install.
  12. Thanks for the info. I will be bringing my 2008 Cayenne base to an Indy. I've noticed a couple of things. When shifting from 3rd to 4th gears there is somewhat of a pause or lag. This also happens sometimes between 4th and 5th gears. The second thing that I noticed is that when accelerating, the gears shift pretty quickly and sometimes, by the time I reach 40 mph it's already in 5th gear. I've only had the car for less than a month, but this doesn't seem normal. I looked at the car maintenance history and the prior owner had the spark plugs changed in December 2013. I'm wondering if these issues are coil related problems or if this is a major tranny issue. Any thoughts?
