Paul, You will need to disconnect battery to remove the driver's airbag according to the workshop manual. By removing the battery, you will need to reset all your 30+ control units in your car. This the resetting work need Porsche System Tester 2 and up to have the job done. So... you will need to see your dealer for that. If you still want to do it yourself. Then PM me.

Hi All I need your help again. I need to find a good dealership who can take good care of both my 996C4s and Cayenne S and treat me like a Porsche car owner. I brought my Cayenne 2nd time in to a dealership located in Newport Beach for steering wheel vibration and Shimmy at highway speed and car pulling to the right. I did not feel I was treated well compare to my Audi and BMW dealers. In fact, the car was in for the same issues as the last time I brought my Cayenne in. I am a person usually take it and find another way around. So, now I am looking for your help to find a good dealership who can do a good job and treat me like a valuable customer. Hi all, I would like to thanks all who answered my questions during my Cayenne S purchasing process. It has been two weeks since we took delivery of my C-S. Following are the options of my S: 1. Titanium Metallic / Black: My wife loves this color, and there were no car had the options that I want with different color at that time. 2. 20" wheels: I want at least 19" wheels, because they look good. Also, I guess the cost of getting a 18" set over eBay will be cheaper. 3. Comfort Pkg: What am I kidding. A over 70k car without it? 4. Comfort Seat with memory: Well my wife and I switch cars very often. So We decided to have my C-S to remember the seat positions for us. 5. Touring Pkg: I always wanted to have a car with GPS. Now I have one Also to add some safety, F&R park assist is a most for me in case of my little baby girl is behind our C-S. 6. Moon Roof: Well, can you find one without it in US? Moreover, we live in sunny California. 7. variable aassist power steering: This is for my wife. 8. Bi-Xenon headlamps: Do not know why. Must have. 9. Roof transport system: I do not need it. But the car that we chose came with it. I love roof rail instead. 10. Heated front seats includes steering wheel: Sometime it gets very cold here in canyon. 11. Roll-up sun screen: This is for my little baby girl 12. Air suspension: Must have. I love to play with air suspension. My Audi Allroad had it, so my C-S also needs it. 13. Colored Prosche crest wheel center caps: They makes my wheels look even better. 14. Collapsible spare tire: In case of flat tire in the middle of nowhere without AAA around. BTW, should it be standard? Now, our 2 weeks ownership. We have driven almost 2k miles now. I do not know why, we just can not give up driving it. Both my wife and I are feeling the speed limits are too slow. They should be increased another 20 MPH. The suspension setup is very good. Although it is an SUV, but I feel like a big big sports car. My C-S has much less body roll than my Audi Allraod. If I set the ride high to normal and shock to comfort, I do not feel any softness of suspension. Instead, I can feel a real comfort. I have not done any offraod before, but I am going to go to Porsche Cayenne Driving Experience this summer. PCM II is working very well and it runs very fast in cases of calculating routes and updating new routes. Bose autopilot volume auto adjustment is a little bit disappointing. It only works well for classical music. Remote key entry (not Porsche Entry and Drive) is working perfect on my C-S. I have no range issue as described in other thread. I can lock and and unlock my C-S in the garage from my formal living (about 10 yards) where a wall is in the middle. Small issues: Some of you may notice my previous post about steering wheel vibration. I am in the process of having my dealership fixing it. I believe it can be fixed by a proper road force balance. But, my first tried was not success , and I am bringing it in again next week. In the future, I still what to add some options to my Cayenne S. In-car video system is one. I will wait until my baby girl is old enough for it, so not for now. TPM, I always forget to check tire pressure before I go. A TPM should help me. Porsche Entry and Drive, is something that also interested me. I do not know if it can be retrofitted. Without it is OK, with it is a plus. Turbo front look. I feel I like turbo front look more. I post a thread for it. But now, I kind of like S' look more. Roof rails, they really look good on Cayenne. I will get them in the near future. Wood trim also makes Cayenne luxury and it may be next to do.

According to my observation, the discount can up to 7k of MSRP. It depends on the car's options. For almost fully loaded Cayenne, you get about up to 5k discount (my case of buying an S). If you chose a light load Cayenne, you may have 6 to 7k discount (which is my neighbor's case). Here is my guessing. For people who take Porsche seriously, what they want is a well equipped Cayenne and $$ is a less important factor. Therefore, dealer will try to real firm on the discount. For people who considering spending a little bit more $$ can upgrade from VW to Porsche, $$ is the most important factor and tend to chose light equipped Cayenne. Dealer will try to steal VW's market share and give more discount. Again, these are only my observation and may not be true.
