  1. Are you willing to drive to Hernando Beach? I'll be doing brakes in the next month or two. Have you thought about bypassing the sensors?
  2. I agree with previous post. Replaced my OEM with stage 2 since I do alot of track work but the car is also a daily driver. Next time, i will go back to the original Sach which lasted 80k miles.
  3. I had mine changed when replacing my clutch. I know that doesnt answer your question directly but if you want to drive to Tampa, 'vortex will provide excellent service for very reasonable cost. Replacing the AOS was the best money that I have spend on my 02 996C2. Finally stopped smoking on startup after tracking the car.
  4. If your crank pulley backed out, did it bread the indexing pin on the crank? If so the pulley may be slipping and not turnig the serpentine belt consistently.
  5. After 30 minutes of track time this weekend at Sebring, the temp gauge was near the upper end of the 180 mark. An engine compartment fan failure warning appeared intermittently but the temp never went up past the 180 mark. Upon parking the car, the fan ran normally. This series of events occurred three times in one day with ambient temps around 85 degrees. Since I have never experienced this warning even on 90+ degree days, I wondered if this was a chicken and egg thing. In other words, is the fan failure warning triggered by a certain temperature, in this case a little over 180. Or is the fan actually failing at speed but operating normally when parked. MY02 C2
  6. Orlandoguy1 What part of Orlando? If you want to drive to Sebring on April 12 to a Chin Motorsports event. We can do the pad replacement in a few minutes.
  7. Anyone experienced problems with Litronics not leveling after lowering the car? Installed JICs last month on my 02 C2 and the headlights are way to low. Everything looks connected on the control arm leveler but no movement upon starting the car.
  8. If you have a sunroof, there is a convenient source in the interior overhead light complex. The power to the sunroof can be used to supply a V1 detector without a long cord.
  9. I have not seen any oil pressure stability improvement in hard left handers on the track since installing the windage tray about a year ago (MY02 3.6l). Anybody experienced an improvement?
  10. I replaced mine (MY02 C2) last month for the same reason. What a difference new motor mounts made. It cured a shifting problem that I had assumed was a failing throwout bearing. Mine must have been worn out since I bought the car two years ago.
  11. This appears to be an easy DIY, jack up engine, remove lower bold, remove upper bolts. Are there any hidden landmines?
  12. I am having similar problems with weak idling at startup. Once the oil is up to temperature upshifts result in a large puff of smoke and high oil consumption with smoke at first startup after tracking the car. My carrera is an MY02 and thought the bellows were replaced after MY01. Can someone explain why a leak in the AOS causes an increase in vacuum rather than a decrease?
