  1. Hey TurboLove, in the future, when parking, look for an end-spot and hug the curb. Easier to walk a couple blocks than to have your car fixed. End-spots next to another car's passanger door are best.
  2. Umm: "All convertibles must be equipped with a "roll bar" that is above the drivers head. Vehicles with factory hoops, or pop up rollover systems are not allowed." seems pretty straight forward but can someone elaborate on what their "exceptions" might be? (is this where the broomstick rule comes in?) Yes, I would say you are correct. With your helmet on.
  3. Join your local PCA (or similar) and learn to drive your new car near its potential. Engage in events like AutoX and DE events. Right now the car far exceeds your driving capability (true for me too!).
  4. Popolou, what "button" are your referring to? If you mean the Sport Chrono button, I have one of those from the factory, since my car was ordered with Sport Chrono (option code # 639). You say that the shop couldn't plumb the lines so i assumed that the Sports chrono option wasn't ticked. If this is not the case, would you kindly elaborate on this then. Are you saying that the neccessary gubbins to actuate the valves are not in place for any pre MY07 as evident by your install? Cheers Popolou My PSE is in "sport" (loud) mode at all times. The factory set-up make the mufflers quiet at certain speeds and RPM's. My set-up does not actuate any valves. I think pre MY07 there is no place in the engine bay to attach the vacuum tubes (possibly because a pre MY07 car does not have VarioCam plus, someone more technical might know???). All the sports chrono bit does on a MY07 car is stop you having to run electrical cables from the DME to a new switch on the dash for the Sports Exhaust. On a MY07 Sports Chrono car the exhaust is activated using the Sports Chrono button so no additional electrical wiring is required. Does the above makes sense??? Yes. But, I am not sure about the VarioCam Plus statement. How long did the job take you? More than 3 hours?

  7. I had a Porsche dealership put the PSE on my 2006 987S. It is great. I also have Sport Chrono. The only issue is that the vacuum lines don't have any place to hook-in. So, they just installed it without the lines, and the mufflers are always in Sport Mode (loud). Sounds great, and this is the way you would want it anyway. Total cost was just under $2,200. Sunset Porsche has the parts. Phil will set-you-up!
  8. Thanks, Loren, you are correct. Sunset Porsche said the part number is 997-111-253-90 and the price is $206.93. Too bad it won't fit, it's a great looking tip.
  9. Is the exhaust tip on the new GT3 black? Or is that the Carrera RS? I have seen it, but forgot which car it was on. Loren, do you know the part number? Would it fit on a 987? Thanks.
  10. I have seen this issue a lot with Porsches. Sometimes guys even say, "thier girlfriend/wife did it"! Most of the time, they add about a cup or 2 but you have added a lot...1/2 gallon. The active ingredient in the washer fluid is one of the alcohols, so it will flash off. Since you added so much, I would get a flush & fill done if it was my car.
  11. It is normal to hear some tapping sounds. Especially on cold start-ups. This noise can be pronounced if you are not using the correct oil and viscosity too.
  12. Wear rating is bad enough on the N rated tires, these look worse!! Thanks, anyway! Larry, yeah, sorry, I saw that too. Try calling 3-4 dealerships in your area. Surprisingly, at times, they offer pretty good deals on tires, mounting & balancing.
  13. Larry, the Tire Rack shows availability for the non n-rated version of your tire: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compare1.jsp...mp;x=65&y=9
  14. Sorry. Car sounds great. All good luck & karma to you from this point forward!
  15. Since they now have about 5 years experience on the "no change fuel filter" -- it must be working... Loren, does the 997 use the same set-up? I would feel more comfortable with say....10 years experience.
  16. Brake fluid is every 2 years, so you are due for sure. I would change the coolant too. Have the belts checked too. Run a high quality fuel cleaner for a couple tanks too...one with Techron like the product from Chevron.
  17. Give Eric a call over at Bumperplugs. I think you just remove a couple hex bolts.
  18. Great idea. I am going to try this for my I-Pass. What keeps it from moving around and making noise? Thanks.
  19. What about GT3 seats...do they sit lower...giving more head room??
  20. You can let it dry overnight. Make sure you keep the car out of sunlight for sveral hours for proper curing and micro-bonding.
