I am looking at buying a 2010 997.2 which has very low kms. The previous owner did not like the factory grey colour (not sure why he bought it new in that case) - so he has wrapped the complete car in a very nice looking, but of course totally non standard, white with a metallic fleck in it. The dealer who is selling it says that it can be removed, but I am worried about damage to the paint underneath. The service records are complete and the garage that has serviced it is not worried as it is mechanically fine and has had very little use. What do you guys think? Worth a punt or leave it alone
I bought an 08 Cayman almost a month ago and then these iridescent "rainbow" discolored spots began appearing all over the car and it continues to worsen. They are not noticeable in direct sunlight or when it is dark outside, but quite noticeable during twilight hours. It kind of resembles a thin "oil slick light refraction" appearance or residual soap though I only use Meguairs products to wash and then rinse thoroughly... only in the shade with the car cool. I'm down to deciding if it makes sense to take out all the typical road rash chips on the front bumper cover and up the front hood on my 996 MY00 coupe RWD, 6 MT Blk / Blk. Previous owner had been diligent with touch up blobs, but it obviously would be esthetically better to have the front clip redone with the exact water base L741 paint. Rest of the car is perfect. Black is easier to match than light colored cars, so I'm tempted. OPINIONS PLEASE : The car is original paint.
