Oil Pressure - What is Optimal

Feds

Recommended Posts

Just purchased a 2004 GT3, 8700 miles (everything everyone says is true...). My wife thinks I'm having an affair with it... she may be right.

Anyway, I've noticed the Oil Pressure gauge consistently reads between 4 and 5. I would have thought it would typically read around 3 - 3.5 after being warmed up. It was Certified, etc. so I would expect everything is normal - but is there an optimal reading here?

If this is abnormally high - what should I look for?

Hi Feds....Congrats on your new (to you) GT3. The oil pressure reading you observe sounds about right. That's what I see and several others with GT3s see as well. Assure you are running the correct oil. See Online Docs Menu above for the latest TSB on factory oil recommendations. We usually run M1 0W-40.

Excellent - thanks. I'm taking the car up to an event in Hastings this weekend and then will dump the oil upon return to Denver. That will ensure everything is up to par...
