My top does not locate properly. I have searched the forum, downloaded the Porsche 'fix' but to no avail. The fabric runs to the outside of the frame. If i guide it into place there is a 1/4" gap between the fabric and the frame when the top is closed. The fabric does not go into the groove. The rear window was replaced when i bought the car. When i checked the leaf springs they were not located on the slider, just screwed down on to the hood frame, and they were flat. I bought new springs on saturday and fitted them. Made no difference.

When the hood is closed i can freely move the sliders back and forth against the leaf spring but the fabric does not really move.

Is there something else that i should be looking for?

I gave up on mine, although admittedly I haven't tried very hard to find the root cause. My car is a 2004, believe it or not, but the previous owner had the original replaced with an aftermarket, and it has been a nightmare (that obviously the dealer won't warranty). If I can get a few more years out of it I'll be happy. Even my wife knows "the drill" of guiding the cable with her hands as I close the top. Good luck, I know all too well what a frustrating problem it is.
