ABS & PSM warning lights

My '99 C4 6sp manual regularly gives me ABS & PSM fault warnings. Both lights come on at the same time, but only when I'm accelerating hard in 2nd or 3rd through 5000-5500 rpm. They then stay on until the ignition is switched off, then they'll stay off until I hit the same rev range hard again. Has to be hard acceleration, otherwise I don't get the faults. Anyone got any ideas ? Thanks in advance. DRC (UK)

Have someone put a PST2 tester on the car and readout the ABS and PSM faults. Chances are it is a wheel speed sensor -- question is which one.
