Removing Dashboard Lining

Recommended Posts

I've seen some really good dash removal posts on here so i thought it would be a good place to ask...

does anyone know if its possible to remove the dashboard lining piece - like that goes up next to the windshield and has the defroster vents in it (pic from carnewal below - without taking out the dash?

TIA

You do not have to remove the dash to replace those pieces.

The defroster pieces are know to break the plastic clips when they are replaced. I think the sun causes the plastic to become brittle there.

It is best to buy a few spares before doing the replacement.

Awesome, thanks guys. is there an exploded diagram thing around by any chance? i saw a great one here for the removal of the side vents...is there such a monster for getting the defroster piece out?

and based on having spares? i assume you mean these plastic clips are not attached to the leather surround piece and i can score extras vs. actually having extra leather surrounds laying around :-)?
