986 Water/Coolant Leak (heavy)

Recommended Posts

I know a mechanic that says that when its not your gas pump, its the oil pump or your water pump... I just hope mine is the water one.

986 2.5L MY97 125k

Good evening to all. I have heavy leaking of water/coolant. The water would deplete in a ride of less then 10 miles. Car is stopped. I dont see any mix of oil with what is leaked. The POND :o is located between the rear wheel and the front wheel, on the right side of the car, closer to the middle of the car.

I lifted the car and removed the panel underneath the car and I found that the liquid is spilling from a device with PN 996.106.013.54. I believe it is the Water Pump. I need your :help: to find that out. If it is a Water pump is there a DIY for this?

Please share your experience...

here's a picture of the water pump, etc. the link below will take you to the page with the pic and part numbers. i'm guessing that the part number you listed is a cover for the water pump, but i'm not sure. the part # has probably been superseded as well.
