Re-program needed?

Recommended Posts

2000 Boxster, 2.7 e-gas. 149K (50K on new engine) Original MAF was the 400, Autohaus sent the 501.

Just replaced my MAF with the following:

0280218055

Bosch

Air Mass Sensor

For models with M620 e-accelerator, for original 99660612400 or updated 98660612501 Porsche units. Please verify part number on existing unit prior to ordering. 1 per car.

Car now runs like a dream but the idle lopes from 600-700 rpm. Did a hard reset and continues, if I read the posts right I will ned to reprogram the computer...correct?

Thanks,

Chris

Yes according to bulletin 1A/00 you will have to reprogram the dme, you will need a factory scan tool and Ipas code for the reprogram.

Yes, if you used a 996.606.125.01 then you will need to re-program the DME with a PST2 or PIWIS.

UPDATE!!!

Drove the car a hours and cleaned the TB, now the car idles perfectly at 650rpm. Is the reprogram still needed to be on the safe side? Thanks again, Chris.
