I suspect this issue affects many people. I have a MY 2005 955 with PCM. By pressing MAIN and TRIP I have confirmed my software version is 1.0. When I went to the dealer they told me that in order to use any of the new Audio/Communications Tequipment they would have to upgrade my software. Cost of the Software upgrade and the DVD with the 2007 maps is on sale at $385.

My car is still under warranty. Is the software upgrade something they should do?

Has anyone been able to upgrade the software themselves? Is this something I could do myself? OR Should I bite the bullet and let the dealer do it?

Thanks

The update CD comes with the new DVD and a note that only a OPC is qualified to do the update, the reason is simply if there gos something wrong during the update procedure they can do a correction.

In my case I have a 2005 955. The DVD unit is under the driver's seat. I fear I may need to bite the bullet and have the dealer do it. I know the process probably involves verifying the PCM software version (MAIN + TRIP) and probably installing the software from the DVD unit under the seat.

This will be a $400 dollar experience (upgrade + new map dvd)

I was hoping someone was adventurous enough to try it themselves

Thanks Gang
