Installation of Oxygen sensors in 997

Recommended Posts

I was all ready told no warranty by the dealer, but they have not given a price to me yet (they still have the car for other warranty non-mechanical issues). I'm just trying to figure oout how much they will cost and if I can put the in myself

Ok, replaced all 02 sensors and drained the gas tank (done by the dealer and not an inexpesive proposition) . I also confirmed that it was not leaded gas, rather 2 gallons of 87 octaine unleaded that was added to the tank

I drove for 120 miles no problems, but I just CELd again with the following:

P2192 Oxygen sensor control adaption FRAO bank 1 upper load range

P2194 Oxygen sensor control adaption FRAO bank 2 upper load range

P2178 Mixture adaption checksum bank 1

P2180 Mixture adaption checksum bank 2

This time no P1108 Oxygen sensing adaption FRAU bank 2 lower load range.

Cleared them with my Durametric, but any ideas what to look at next? My exhaust including cats are fine and Im sure the codes well be back in a couple of days

Could this be a MAF sensor issue and can I replace or possibly clean the MAF myself? (If yes, where is iit located) I cannot feel any driving issues with the codes on, however I do seem to lose about 10% fuel efficiency

87 octane? - your owners manual says 93 (or at least 91).

I think you need to find someone that can look at your actual air flow, FRA TRA, and O2 sensor voltages.

Thanks Loren Ill have it looked at. The 2 gallons of 87 octane was an expensive screw up by my son, but I did not think it would cause any cel issues. Now I have 4 new O2 sensors. We will see hwat is next
