CEL, PSM & ABS lights

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Just went through the whole MAF replacement thing and have been fine for a while, then yesterday on moderate acceleration the PSM & ABS lights go off. Then after a few minutes the CEL shows, it was like seeing old friends...the difference this time is the car still runs normal...I know I need to check the codes, but has anyone experienced this lately and found out it was something else besides the MAF ?? Turning off the car does not clear anything, and disconnecting the battery clears the CEL, but the ABS & PSM come right back after starting. Any suggestions welcomed...car is a 2000 cab tip w/k&n CAI (oil free filter) & 51k miles

Thanks

Many times a PSM and ABS light on at the same time mean that either the brake light switch is out or the MAF is bad.

Testing the brake switch is easy - just get someone to stand behind the car and tell you if they come on when the brake is applied.

You need to take the car to an auto parts store (like Autozone) and get your codes read for free. Write down the code(s) (all of them) and report back here.
