Scouser has updated his excellent VIN Decoder. The VIN Decoder is here.

Many thanks to Scouser for his continued efforts, work, and updates to this fine tool! :clapping:

Any tech on how one can find the VIN codes for an older car?

For more information about the 17 Digit VIN code system

I think it would be helpful if you said what year or range of years...

I wish I knew the exact years. I am not sure exactly when they changed the amount of digits in the VIN. My car is a 1973 and has 10 numbers (no letters).

I was also looking for a database on engine numbers. I did a search but couldn't find the exact information. I know my engine is not original to the car, but I can't determine what year it was from (although I assume it's from 1974-1977).
