996 C2 Tires...

Hello there...I am about to change tires and I was wondering what brand should be the best...My car was wearing pirelli p zero rosso,and I am thinking of byuing the same...My previous Porsche had dunlop sp 9090...I thing thay the pirellis are slightly better...Any opinions?

The pirelli's wear fast and make alot of noise, particularly when partially worn. Try the Michelin PS2, longer lasting, quieter, etc. etc.

I would vote for the Pilot PS2 as well. I had a set on my Boxster and they where great and the rears lasted for 30K+ miles. When the Pilots on my 996 finally go I am headed right back for the SP2's.

I use PS2's as well. My rears lasted 17k and my fronts are still good at 24k. They will probably last until 30k. Great tire (handling, wear, looks, etc.)

I switched to the Kumho Ecsta's. I was running SO3's, but decided to look for a cheaper alternative after they were discontinued. I have no complaints after almost 22k miles and 2 DE's, rears will still last me through the fall and spring months. Great handling for road and track. They are somewhat more noisy, but at almost half the cost.... $109 and $207 for the fronts and rears (respectively) at tire rack.

I am very very happy with Continental SpotContact 2 (N rated). It is a great tire all around and I highly recommend it!

Thank you all for your replies...Do the kuhmo tires have N rating?Or it is not essential and it is only for pricing purposes?Michael I ve tried also contisport contact2 tires on the M roadster and were fine...However the Pirellis seemed better,more reliable for high speed cruising...
