2004 GT3 wing conversion to CF RS?

Bought my GT3 last year and have been dying to replace stock wing to carbon fiber RS wing. Have not been able to find a product that I feel comfortable purchasing--i.e. quality CF construction so that I can leave it unpainted. Anyone have any suggestions?

I assume by your comments that you don't want to buy the OE RS wing? Too expensive? If that's not the case, and you will buy the OE piece, see if Austin at TRG can get you one. As I understand it, they're tough to find. Look on Rennlist and 6speedonline for any sellers. Mine is not for sale. :)

Forgot to mention my GT3 is an '04. Anyway, the porsche dealer to whom I posed the same question indicated that the OEM would require replacing the rear deck lid, etc. Did not sound right (was not sure he knew what he was talking about). Anyway, it is my understanding that the 997 GT3 RS wing will not fit the 996 GT3 mounts. Thus, is aftermarket the only option? Thanks

Mine is an '04. I don't understand the issue. The RS cf blad fits on there. Are you looking to replace it with a Cup wing.

BTW, doesn't sound like the dealer knew what you wanted, or didn't know what he was talking about.

Not the cup wing, just the CF RS wing. Anyway, I just sent an email to TGR attn Austin to see what they can do. Appreciate the info!

MA Shaw (Mike Shaw) has a good Carbon wing. Google "MA Shaw Porsche" and it should come right up or you'll see his ads in the major Porsche mags. I have one on my car. It's now clear coated but looked fine without the clear coat as well. I have a carbon front splitter from him as well - unpainted.

I happen to have my wing on a 996 C4S that I converted to be able to carry it's the wing orignally for a 996 GT3.

Good luck!

FYI, Austin has left TRG. Don't know if that's immediate or not. If you don't hear from him relatively quickly, contact Bob Brooks <vbmotorsports@gmail.com> who is now located in FL. I used to do all my business with Bob, and will do so again now that I don't have a local contact.

TRG contacted me with a good price on a OEM wing. Ordered it and should be received in about 7 days. Thanks for help
