Help:mounting Slot(?) On The Roof Rail Problem

Recommended Posts

I opened the tiny lid on the roof where a rack mount is fastened but it won't close. It looked like the plastic hinge got popped out of its place.

I can see there are 4 tiny plastic hooks but can't figure out how I can put those back in. Do I have to remove the rail? Any help will be much appreciated. I know.. What was I thinking. Why did I bother to open the lid first place...

You've got mail...

The answer might be of general interest ...

Not that I have broken the little plastic cover, but I have pushed the rubber seal into the roof rail in some cack-handed attempt of cleaning my car. All efforts of pulling out the seal have failed, so I assume I have to take out the roof rail. How would I do that? Is it just a matter of undoing those two screws and then the good old plastic spatula?
