Removing trailer hitch 08 CS

Recommended Posts

I would like to remove the trailer hitch came with my 08 CS.

I think the divided plastic(?) under the bumper needs to be replaced with un-divided one.

What is that part number and price?

Is that all I need for the removal?

Thanks!

You need a new rear bumper in aluminium since the base of the hitch is the rear bumper. Remove the control box mounted behind the right rear side trim ( located approx. under the rear side window ), the complete wiring and renew the side trim with the switch if the hitch is electric controlled to prevent fault codes. Clear the programming with PIWIS.

If it's the oem trailer hitch, I want to know if you want to sell it. I just baught a curt hitch (aftermarket) and it's not installed yet and I can return it. Please let me know the price for the hitch and if you follow the wiring in the right side of the trunk there is a coupling unit box to operate flasher and brake light.

Thanks,

GUY

Hi Loren,

Can I have part numbers for what needs to be replaced to remove the factory trailer hitch on my 08 CS?

Can I have price for them?

Is there a difference for an aluminum rear bumber btw 1st and 2nd gen. Cayenne?

I think lower rear plastic valence(?) which is now divided in the center for a hitch also should be replaced with an undivided one.

TIA.

James.
