Exhaust Gasket Blown?

Recommended Posts

So I'm driving my 2008 Boxster S LE and I suddenly notice the exhaust noise is much louder than normal(it was raining), almost like the sound of a blown manifold gasket... The car only has 4,000 miles on it and the closest Porsche dealer is 180 miles away...

Any known issues with the sports exhaust?

Is it possible that water got in the air filter?

Cauld the cold water getting on the hot exhaust have anything to do with this noise?

Just get it up off the ground and have a look. Probably Fritz just forgot to tighten something down before it left the factory and it rattled loose. It happens.

Tow truck picked it up yesterday (after talking to Porsche USA warranty dept.), Dealer should call today to see what they found.

I'll keep you all posted.

The exahaust problem was a vaccuum line that goes to both mufflers...

There is also a recall is on the screws for the door latching mechanism...

The soft top latch was just deffective as well...

Parts are on order...
