Hallo

i have bought a Porsche self dimming mirror and want to install it in my 98 Boxster. I am from germany and have searched the german internet for an installation guide, but i didn't find anything.

I hope you can help me. Is there a TSB for the mirror?

I'm also thinking about installing the headlight washers, is there a TSB or installation guide for this too.

I want to install the inside mirror.

I thought that there is a porsche tequipment retrofit kit available for the headlight washers. And that there should be an information how to install it, but maybe i was wrong.

There is a retrofit kit for the headlight washers but I do not know of any instructions.

We filmed the interior mirror install on Henry's Boxster using the Porsche Boxster instructions. When Henry hooked up the wires it did not dim. Then we looked at the 996 instructions and there was a notation of a wiring change as of a certain date for the 996.

Henry switched the wires according to the 996 instructions and then it worked.

The Boxster and 996 instructions came out the same day, but no notation in the Boxster instructions of a wiring change. Wasted time on that project......

I noticed that there ist a separate TSB for the outside self dimming mirror. Is it so difficult to install that one, that I will need the TSB.

Or do I just need to connect an extra wire.

There is a retrofit kit for the outside drivers mirror. But you must also have the interior mirror as the photocell on the interior mirror controls the outside mirror.

We have not done the outside yet. It is a little more involved as you have to remove the door panel and the electrical connector for the wires from the door.

Could you send me the TSB for the outside mirror, so that I can see if it is possible for me to do it be myself.
