1982 924 window motor

Recommended Posts

The driver side power window in my 924 won't go up and im not sure why. I'm also not sure exactly how it works, theres a constant 12 volts going to both the terminals on the window motor and when i hit the switch it goes down to 0 volts. I would like to know what else i can do to diagnose this problem and also what cars i can steal the motor out of.

try swapping the window switch with a known good one to eliminate the switch

you can pull the motor and apply 12v directly to it to see if the motor is bad

all 924/944/968 window motors are interchangeable, so a left window motor from any other in this series will work

It sounds like the ground in the switch is bad or not connected. I'd test the switch, it it checks out, then you must have a short in the motor.
