I have a quick question regarding the price of a replacement engine for a 997.

I remember seeing a post from Loren last year noting that a new 996 unit ran to over $25,000 (a little over half that if the unit was returned as a core exchange). A search on Pelican Parts this morning for part number 99710099703 indicates that a replacement motor for the 997 runs at $30,324. Am I right that this is the right part number for a new 997 engine (assuming standard price for the complete motor with no exchange) and what would the price roughly be if it were with a core exchange?

Thanks!

Dear Santa:

I know it is a little early to be writing you, but I have been a very-very good boy this first half of the year, and I wanted to make sure you knew exactly what I wanted this year for Christmas. Please put me down for a 99710099703 from the local Porsche parts department.

It may prove challenging to get it down the chimney, so I'll leave the Boxster sitting on the driveway. Just take out my motor and replace with part number 99710099703. Feel free to give my motor to any of the 986 guys, since they have so many of those RMS/IMS issues.

Thank you, Santa!

Love,

Timmy

PS- please park the Boxster back in the garage when finished, I don't want any snow on her!
