Boxster 986 and Durametric

Recommended Posts

I have a July 97 Stuttgart Boxster 2.5L Tiptronic that I am new to and I am enjoying every aspect of being a Porsche newbie. The whole experience is different than any other car I have owned I love the handling the sound etc. etc.

Anyway I have had a few minor snags with the car O2 sensors, door lock windows acting up, and along with the Bentley Manual I purchased the Durametric cable and am learning to troubleshoot and repair these.

My question is where is the best information on the capabilities of the Durametric that aren't documented with the software, for example all the drive link functions and the actual values?

Is there an online source?

Thanks for any help

Garth Harrington

It sounds like you might have a faulty ignition switch. The part is about $10 (from autohausaz.com, for example) and you can change it out yourself with a small screwdriver and a little bit of under-dash contortions in 15 minutes.
