Recommended Posts

ive searched and searched and i still cant find out what the torque specs are.

can anybody help me....

i need the torque specs for a

2001 boxster s, tension pulley (accessory)

and if it squeaks should i put a little lube grease or wd-40

or should i replace it??? it fell off before and i had to put it back in so im not sure how to tell if its still good or not. i put it back on and everything is working fine but its making this loud squeaking noise

noise = replace.

Please explain how it fell off. I recall you other post and I don't know that pulley from experience, but I have never seen an idler or tension pull "fall off" unless there is massive failure of bearings.

ya remember me from the other post about my serpentine belt. well the belt didnt brake it was the tension pulley, it fell off and some how it stayed on that plastic liner on the bottom i found it and put it back home then drove the car home. the car is running fine but theres just that loud noise.

See attached PDF with selected pages one engine torque values. I didn't have time to find that pully nor know exactly which one you are having issue with. If there is no value for that pulley on the list you can possibly estimate it from other pulley bolts of comparable spec.

So did you find the bolt too?

I still say noise = replace, there is a reason it came out even if it's human error. The pulley is going to be inexpensive compared to a overheated engine (again).

Find out which pulley you need and drop the number to Sunset Imports (site sponsor) and get it ordered.
