Roof adjustment/alignment help

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I have some issues with my Boxster. The convertible top seems to be mis-aligned on the car. How can i re-adjust the roof so that it "fits" correctly on the car itself?

I have taken some photos that show the differences between the right (driverside) and left (passenger side) of the car. Please look at the photos and help me out!

Here are some photos of the right and left window alignment. As you can see, the right window alignment is a bit off. It doesnt go that much back into the roof-lining/sealing as on the left side... Although, the left side creaks alot! How can i fix this?

Left photo = left side

Right photo = right side

Also, the roof is a bit off as you can see from these photos... the left side does not "fit" that well, look down by the window and you can see that the sealing doesn't fit as it should.. there is also the "gap" in the roof sealing... The right side looks much more correct.

And finally, the clamshell is a bit off too.. Right side is almost a bit too much down and the left side is a bit too much up (i have adjusted the black adjustment thingys, and it didnt help as much as it should).

Looks like someone "sprung" your top. If it were mine, I would open the top half way and try a tweak on the top to

re-align-it.

Does it go up and down smoothly?

Tweak it? by bending it you mean? Or is it possible to adjust it in another way?

Yes it does go up and down smoothly. The right side leaks a little little bit also... And if i use a high pressure water hose on it the water basically just flows in especially on the right side but also on the left side... But i guess thats normal.

The push rod (with red or white cap) has an adjustment. Loosen bolt and extend the rod where top is too short. 973-635-3443
