Turbo Cooling

Any recommendation as to the cooling period in a Turbo? After a fast drive the other night, the fan started running for about 15 min after I turned the engine and the next morning had a white puff of smoke when I started the car. Also is it better to let the car warm up in the garage before a drive for a few minutes or start the car & drive off gently till the car warms up??

All tips welcomed...

Drive easy for a mile before parking in the garage. Let idle for about 60-120 seconds before shutting down. You can also open the rear trunk lid, in the garage, to aid cooling.

Don't need to pre-warm the car prior to driving. That only wastes gas and can mess up emissions systems, including cats. Just keep RPM's below 4,000 until car is up to full op temps and oil pressures.

Thanks, got a bit worried the other day when I switched the engine off and the fans turned on a few minutes later....

Was told years ago that it was better to warn up an engine for a short while before taking off as it gave the oil a chance to warm up before taking off. Mind you oils nowadays are more viscous than 30 years ago...
