So I found a killer deal on an 07 boxster with 8000 miles and I got really good money on my trade as well. It took a few 3.5 hour drives to seal the deal...but I am smiling from ear to ear.

It has the preferred package + xenons + 18 S wheels + automatic climate control

The xenons are very very very very nice.

The only option it doesn't have that I would like is the glass windstop...so I will just have to install one myself.

Thanks all for the help and advice in buying it!post-34617-1220813875_thumb.jpg

Congratulations on the purchase. How much did you pay, if you don't mind me asking?

I bought a new '08 Boxster and got the windstop. After living with it for the summer I decided that the windstop was really unnecessary and detracted from the looks of the car. Its removed and i no longer carry it or the rollbar hoop meshes in the car.

Other people have said the windstop makes a big difference, but I honestly don't notice it. Perhaps you can ride in a friend's 987 with windstop and see if it makes a diff before buying it. But IMHO save your money.

Regards,

Alan

Way to go GearDriven, very nice ride! You won't be sorry for choosing the 987.

As for the windstop, I have it on mine and think it works well, but as suggested try to take a ride with someone who has one and judge for yourself. In fact there wasn't one on my 986 so I added it and found it quieted things down in that car.

I have fairly long hair, and found the windstop makes a big difference. The plastic factory one does wobble a bit, though, and sometimes causes a distraction in the r-v mirror.

Where do you get a glass version? I'd love to have a drop-in replacement for that.

Sorry :) No Glass...just your normal plastic.

The reason I want the windstop is for when my GF is in the car...I think it's fine with no windstop.
