Leaking Coolant - Not Tank!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Thanks in Advance for any help you can give.

I noticed a puddle last night when I returned to my car, I brushed it off and started my journey to a friends. Halfway there I got 'Coolant Level Low' warning sign and a blinking red box on my temp gauge (even though my temp gauge was normal - a smidge over 180). I didn't know the area and only had a couple of miles to go so continued to my friends place and parked up. Checked the coolant and it was indeed very low. I put about a gallon of water in there as a temp fix to get me home, I could immediately see it leaking out the middle of the car, infront of the rear wheels. The car was fine on the 10min drive home (no check engine lights or overheating).

I jacked the car up this morning to investigate (after reading my 'TOTAL' care warranty doesn't actually cover coolant hoses) and I think I found the offending hose.

I have some pics here...

I'm assuming my hose needs replacing and would appreciate any advice.

Instructions and part number if it needs replacing would be great!

Thanks Again

Year? Model?

Apologies, kinda missed out that important information! (2003 Targa Tip).

It was easy to get off in the end, three clips and a bit of elbow grease. After pulling the offending part I took it down to Porsche.

Manual cars don't have the small hose coming off the main hose from what I gather.

Parts Guy said he hadn't seen any of these fail although its been superseeded so there's obviously been a few let go.

(Part number 996-106-841-09.)

I'll take some pics tomorrow when I do the install.
