need hood latch for 99 996

Recommended Posts

I want to do the mod described by Loren in his DIY pages. Where can I purchase just the hood and trunk latches see in this picture? Porsche says they only sell the entire assembly which is something like $400. Yikes, don't want to pay that.

Getting a set of silver ones is rare since they discontinued the part numbers. Black only at most dealers that have used up their silver stock.

If my were as damaged as the ones in the pic then I would sand them down and repaint them with Wurth Silver (wheel paint) and then give them 3-6 coats of Wurth Clearcoat (wheel paint).

The parts are available from Suncoast Porsche in Florida. Just search for them on the web and talk to their parts department. The parts are apparently only available as a european part number. I only ordered the front latch. It was about $80. Not cheap ... but better than buying the whole assembly.
