Key FOB still not working

Recommended Posts

I have read the posts in the forums and have tried inserting the key in the (i) door and manually unlocking then pressing the FOB, and (ii) turning the ignition on and off. One FOB works correctly, the other opens manually but will not work remotely. I just purchased the car and PO said that it was synced at one time and that he just had the battery replaced by the dealer. Is there any benefit to trying to unhook the battery or should I resolve myself to pay the dealership? Thanks -

J

You can try the reset procedure which involves reversing the battery for a few seconds. You should also try a new battery - if that fails then you can see if a shop or dealer can reprogram the key for you. Worst case you will need a new key.

Many thanks Loren. I did try reversing the battery - I simply flipped the battery and reinserted it for a few seconds - please let me know if that was not the correct procedure. I am getting a flashing red light in the FOB, it just isn't opening things remotely.
