Signs of a brake control switch going bad??

Recommended Posts

When my C-S was returned to me after a recent service visit the following problems were present. The C-S went straight back to he dealer, this AM they are thinking that that a brake controller maybe going bad?

1. Crusie control (green light on the dash turns on) does not operate.

2. Horn makes a high pitch sound.

3. No need to depress brake to start Cayenne

4. When Vehicle is off you put the Cayenne into any gear that you like without using the brake.

5. In tip mode with ESP off, the Cayenne does not shift on its own at redline (never noticed this before so it might be normal, but it seems weird that the Cayenne will let to continously hit the rev limiter).

Any thoughts>>>?

I am dealing with a certain Porsche, May Bach, Aston Martin, jaguar,Mercedes, Ifiniti dealer in Edison, if you know the one I am talking about.

They have been really accomodating through this entire problem. They have stated my my CS has problem that they are unable to resolove! Now it is time for PCNA to step up to the plate and buy this sucker back!

NB. I would appreciate more attention to detail from the dealer though....

My 2005 Cayenne Turbo just started exhibiting signs 1 and 3 (haven't noticed 2, and haven't tried 4 and 5 yet). Brake lights are working normally, though.

Could the brake switch be bad as far as starting and cruise control goes, but still work for the brake lights?!?
