MoBridge Bluetooth Microphone installation help

Recommended Posts

Just got my Mobridge Bluetooth for my 2006 C2S Cab and eager to install it. The tips on mobridgeinc.com regarding where to put the box are quite useful and I am planning to locate it in the center stack behind the PCM as described there. I am having a hard time finding tips or instructions on where to locate the microphone and how to route the wire though. Anyone done this before and can share some tips? Maybe even a picture?

I have one fitted and they located the mic on the rear of the area where the internal light is. The wire is simply run behind the lining of the roof and down the A pillar.

They located the box behind the glove box as it is quite big and may be a squeeze behind the PCM. This also means you can get at it easily if you have updates or want to use the memory card slot etc.

Ipod cable runs in to the glove box.

will try and get a pic of the mic for you later on.

Thanks ray33. A picture would be great. I'm especially curious to find out if it's best to attach the mic to the windshield with the little pad it comes with or if there is a better place to position it. Maybe using the little clamp attachment. I'll check out the space behind the glove box, too.

ray33 could you post a photo of the mic install?

my mic is attached to the back of the plastic bit of the dome light, fits well...need to take a pic for you rather than trying to describe it...

Here are a couple of pictures showing how the mic is mounted now. Thanks for your replies - between them, other forum posting and the mObridge instructions from the website the install was quite simple and completed in less than an hour. The box itself is mounted just behind the glove compartment - a location easily accessible from the passenger footwell without taking out the glove box. The iPhone cable is routed to the center console and the mic cable hidden behind the windshield trim. Looks quite clean and works like a charm!
