GT Silver metallic paint code

Recommended Posts

I am respraying my Boxster in GT Silver metallic. I've rung various Porsche Centres and authorised paintshops but nobody has even heard of this colour.

Does someone know what is the paint mix code for it? Thanks.

Cheers,

Jin

p.s: Is it possible that this paint also comes under the name Sports Silver? The paintshop said there is a sports silver for Porsche 2003-2005 models... I am not sure if that's just their generic name or the same GT metallic in a less propaganderous name.

Hmm.... that's possible. The paint code for Sports Silver is M7Z (as read to me by the paint company girl that manufatures OEM Porsche paint). I suppose Z and 2 is close enough.....

Anyway, for those interested, "Sports Silver" M7Z 's code is PROFI MA352.40...... if that makes any sense to anyone.

That's cool, TP, thanks for the confirmation.

Guess what? I should've figured, given it was so difficult to get the paint code - no workshop has this paint code on their system and so nobody can mix this paint for me, not even the Porsche authorised shops..... geez.......

Just print some pictures that show the color well, I'm sure the paintshops can match to sample quite easily. They'd have to guess how much metallic is in there, but I assume it is the same as in other Porsche paints.

Don't know how good this chart is, but is hows the various gray/silver metallic colors:

FWIW: cars.com: 2004 Available Colors

Or - just the color swabs (enlarged): Larger swabs

I think the exterior colors match closely, but the interior colors seem 'off' on my terminal.
