Raising the Boxster

Recommended Posts

I asked this question under my CV Boot topic, but I thought I'd post it separately since it's just a general question:

If I want to raise the Boxster on all four points using jack stands, will stands (the typical metal stands with the upward saddle arm) dent or damage the underside of the car?

It doesn't seem that they would fit cleanly near the jack points.

Any help or thoughts?

I have never had them damage anything but I generally put a piece of plastic or soft pine scrap wood in the saddle of the jack stand. I recently replaced the trim around my garage door with PVC and the scraps from that job work great for this task.

Ya can't really raise a car wirh jackstands. They hold the car once you have raised it with floor jacks. Like rob I usual us scraps o softish pine (2x4s). No jack ot stand is going to do any damage any thing if you place it correctly. You can also buy lite plastic pads that mate with the lift points.
