Install turbo on 3.0L

Hi all,

This may be a noob question, but I am in position to obtain an '82 911 SC, which has the 3.0L. Is it possible to swap in (with fabrication if necessary) a turbo from the 3.3L?

Thanks,

Steve

*UPDATE*

I found a nifty thread on Pelican forums from a very knowledgeable guy who did the conversion with an old BAE turbo kit on his 3.0L:

Swap in a complete turbo engine or jsut add the turbo to the existing engine..??

The turbo engine would already be detuned/derated, <8:1 CR, in order to accomodate, make use of, the turbo's FULL boost capability. The easiest way to detuned/derate the existing engine might be to add the thickness of 1 or 2 extra head gaskets.
