Need to see the parts associated with the interior dimming mirror 996 731 511 02 01C I have the mirror but need the part number to attach the mirror to the windshield as well as any covers that for the mirror base & wiring. thanks

Procedure

1. Mark the position of the interior mirror. Mark the position of the bonding plate on the outside of the windscreen.

Dimension A = 633 mm

Dimension B = 100 mm

Remove adhesive residues

Remove adhesive residues from the windscreen mechanically using a scraper. Remove adhesive residues on the bonding plate of the interior mirror mechanically using a scraper.

2. Sand the bonding plate of the interior mirror flat. Clean the bonding plate of the interior mirror. Clean the bonding area on the windscreen.

Sand the bonding plate of the interior mirror flat mechanically using 100 grain sandpaper.

Clean the bonding plate of the interior mirror with cleaning solution A.

Clean the bonding area on the windscreen with cleaning solution A.

3. Mask the bonding area on the windscreen.

Mask the bonding area on the windscreen with primer template (cover film C). The marking for the position of the interior mirror must be visible in the center of the primer template.

4. Prime the bonding area on the windscreen.

Treat the masked bonding area on the windscreen thinly and evenly using primer B.

5. Activate the bonding area on the windscreen.

Remove the primer template.

Spray activator D onto the bonding area of the windscreen.

6. Apply adhesive to the bonding plate.

Apply a drop of adhesive E to the bonding plate of the interior mirror.

7. Stick on the interior mirror.

Press the interior mirror with the bonding plate onto the primed and activated area of the windscreen.

Thanks Loren for the view but I really need the part number for the windshild mount for the self dimming mirror as the stock mount is to small for the new mirror thanks

There is a kit to retrofit the self dimming mirror - but it does not have an exploded view.

All I can do is guess what other parts you need. You might want to give the folks at Sunset Imports a call and see if they know which additional parts you will need.
