I was wondering if anyone knows how the small porsche crest is mounted to the airbag? :wrench:

I would like to replace it with a aftermarket silver crest to match the one on the hood.

If anyone has done this and can share, it would be most appreciated. The car (mine) i would like to do this on is a 2006 Cayenne Turbo.

I am attaching a picture of what the seller showed me, seems to be a pin (one pin) style, just like the badge on the front of the car (2 pins)?

So I am wondering does the airbag have to come off? and if so is there a way into that area to disassemble and put this new one in?

Or is there really no pin in the original badge for the air bag, and this pin need to be removed and just adhesive added?

The standard ones are stuck on, the aftermarket silver one you have is for a 356 hence the single pin on the back

If you can get the standard one off you would need to cut the pin off the back of your silver version and glue in on

The standard one would hurt as much as the aftermarket version if it hit you when the bag went off!

Thanks 911perv, so you mean cut the original pin (which is different) as well as cut the pin on the aftermarket. Put the aftermarket one on and then do something like epoxy the original pin to the aftermarket?

Does anyone know a web link, diagram, etc.. that shows how a cayenne airbag deploy's? Like the top folds down or spilts in the middle (i doubt it though), or the bottom folds up, etc...

Does anyone have instruction (perferable with picture) of how to remove the cayenne airbag. I want to see whats going on in the back of that original crest to make my final decision, and would gladly take pictures to publish here for everyones future referrence to understand the deal with the original crest.

magcuda, I appreciate your FYI.
