windows not working, interior light not working, button illuminations

Recommended Posts

Today, I took off the horseshoe panel and the two side panels to install a GPS unit.

To remove one of the side panels, I pried it open and then disconnected the convertible top switch, the door lock/unlock switch and the mirror heater switch. I am quite certain I connected everything back correctly. But now, those switches don't illuminate. The convertible top switch still operates. But when it does, the windows don't drop at all. The mirror heater switch don't seem to work (the indicator doesn't come on). The door lock/unlock switch doesn't work (doors don't lock/unlock, no indicator).

In addition, the window switches, on the centre console near the hand brake, no longer work. I can't wind down the windows at all.

The windows still drop that little bit when I open the door.

There must be one common problem that's causing all this.

Anyone come across anything like this before?

Problem solved!

I found a few other posts on the forum. People have had the exact same problem after pulling out those switches to install a GPS. For some reason, the 3rd fuse from the left on the 3rd row blows. I checked mine last night and thought all fuses were okay, but this morning, under better lighting conditions, I found that fuse blown. I replaced it, and everything is ok now.

Thanks for your help, nonetheless.
