Hose wear

Recommended Posts

I'm posting a few things today...finally getting around to this work and have some pictures. While working on my other issue (see post http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...mp;#entry160855 ), I noticed that this hose appears to have some pretty significant wear to it. Is this something that I should be worried about? Should I replace this hose or repair it in-line?

The "hose" in your pic. is the shift cable (Tiptronic). Take a look if the material under the foam protection is still in good shape, if yes, you can use the cable even for a long time.

The cable makes a mechanical connection between the gear box selector and the inside gear shift lever (P-RND etc.)

The topic you indicate discusses a hydraulic/electronic problem which is not related to the shift cable.
