Running Boards.... tried to fit but need help!

Recommended Posts

I bought some TRUX running boards to fit my 2007 Cayenne mk1, 3.2.

They come with front and rear brackets for both sides.

In the instructions, the front brackets have 2 fixings, the 1st has to be connected by removing the "factory bolt" and securing with the same, the 2nd is fixed using a bolt with a long flat head that you bend into a hole in the body. I can see the hole in the body but can't see the front factory bolt.

At the rear, again there is a large hole for one of the mountings but the other, the instructions simply say "remove body". Looks like there will be another hole hidden behind some plastic.

Has anybody successfully fitted running boards themselves?

If I could possibly get my hands on the TSB for running board installation that would be fab!

Can anyone help?

James

Ok - done and downloaded TSB 6626 but unfortunately looks like the OEM ones are different to the ones I bought.

I bought this set:

http://www.direct4x4.co.uk/view-gallery.php?id=958

The instructions that came with the set aren't great.

It mentions a "factory bolt" for the front bracket, but I can't see such a bolt on the underbody. I see three holes, but none contain a bolt.

And at the rear, some of the plastic trim on the underbody has to be removed before one of the connections can be reached. The trim has star shaped headed screws/bolts.

I think i'll give up!
