Changing The Oil On The 2010 911 Turbo

I have the new 2010 911 Turbo and would like to change the oil myself. I do not trust the service centers. I was told by the local Porsche dealer that after you change the oil there is no way to clear the "service oil" message through the dash board computer. They said I would have to bring in the car and the oil reset was done through the computer diagnostic port. They want to charge me $100 in labor for just the reset. Is this true or are they just looking to make more money on the complete oil service? I can't find anything in the book and most of the dealerships are not very knowledgeable about the 2010 911TT.

I don't know about the 2010 Turbo but almost all modern Porsches can have the service indicator turned off by the Durametric tool. Most mechanics have one... My indi mechanic will clear my service alerts/codes for free.

Loren may know the facts here with the 2010 Turbo.

8 US quarts with filter change.

Use a new sealing ring 900.123.106.30 -- US MSRPO $0.87

Oil filter (w/o-ring) 948.107.022.00 -- US MSRP $28.52

I don't know if the Durametric will reset the code or not - a question for the Durametric folks.

Anyone with a PIWIS tester can reset it. Where are you located?
