996 45K Maintenance Diy

Recommended Posts

I was searching for a thread on the 45K minor maintenance and couldn't find one. I've rolled up on it and want to do it myself. Any tips/tricks? I got the Actron CP9550 obd II and am raring to go. Just finished the bumper removal/radiator cleaning DIY. (didn't have any screws left after reassembly!!) (dads help made it easier too)

thanks,

Pete

Roger that. Checked under minor - - guess I'll try to tackle the oil change myself. (Filter and Filter wrench from Sunset??) What is the 'particle filter'? Should I even bother with the OBDII default read out? Nothing is showing up on the onboard system.... Sorry for the dumb questions, just new to this stuff.

v/r

Pete

Filter, o-ring and drain plug sealing ring from Sunset.

I don't know the their price on a metal oil filter wrench but you might find that locally (74 mm 14 flutes).

'particle filer' is the same as 'pollen filter' or 'cabin filter'.

No faults are always good - unless you have a check engine light I would skip until the next major maintenance.

Going for the oil change this weekend. Sunset sent an entire new drain plug with the sealing ring. Any reason why I should use a new drain plug? - or just use the new sealing ring with the old drain plug?

thanks,

pete

Finally got the oil/filter done. Glad I had a drip pan. The flow overwhelmed the drain tub I purchased. All good though. I noticed the jack stand battle on a different thread and went ahead and propped it up on 4x4x6. Worked like a charm.
